We Should Have Wagered

How long did y'all think it would take Dean's dogs to resort to homophobia in denouncing the mighty President of Fagistan?

About thirty hours by my count. Scroll down the comment to "DeanF"'s first (of three) comments and see him call me a sissy! In fact he calls me a "bunch of sissies!" I'm assuming he didn't intend to include Dean's supporters in the cocksucking lineup, so I have to be a "bunch" all by my lonesome.

Scroll further down for my response. I will admit that I got a little bored by the monotony of the comments after the first 30 or so . . . but the homophobia angle really brightened things up. Of course, now these good progressives are defending the homophobe by saying I'm crying "victim."

I said, initially, that progressives should be ashamed to have supported Dean. I take it back.

Dean should be ashamed of having their support.

Update: "DeanF" would like to me to post a "correction" explaining his (her?) actual "position" (not a sexy one, unfortunately.) Apparently "sissy" was not intended to be homophobic, and never had that connotation where DeanF grew up, merely meaning childish and immature. How this differentiates a "sissy" from a "child" I'm unclear. The fact is, that sissy is homophobic. It's one of a thousand ways that heterosexist culture seeks to diminish the masculinity of those who don't conform to a narrow ideology of masculinity. Even if it sweeps many hetero men in the net, that doesn't mean it's not homophobic. I stand by my statements. DeanF is right, however, to point out my own rabid use of homophobic slurs on this site. The difference, though, is obvious. I approach such matters with a sense of irony and humor, something DeanF sorely lacks.
